Brand New Moog Servo

 

Moog valve features a two-stage flow control design with a mechanical feedback spool. Moog valve of electro-hydraulic servo valves serves as both three-way and four-way throttle-type flow control valves, ensuring fast response and low contamination characteristics.

 


The Moog servo system consists of a permanent magnet torque motor, nozzles, spools, valve sleeves, and control chambers. When an input current is applied to the coil of the servo valve, the spool moves to the right, causing throttling action on the right nozzle, reducing flow, and increasing back pressure on the right side. At the same time, the throttling action on the left nozzle is reduced, increasing flow, and lowering back pressure on the left side. The forces at both ends of the spool become unbalanced, causing the spool to move to the left. High-pressure oil flows from port S to port C2, delivering to the load. The load return oil passes through port C1 and returns to the reservoir. The displacement of the spool is directly proportional to the input current of the torque motor. The hydraulic force acting on the spool balances the spring force, so the differential current of the torque motor is directly proportional to the spool displacement in the balanced state. If the input current is reversed, the flow direction is also reversed.
